加拿大临时居民签证可以签发为单次或多次入境，有效期由签证官根据个案决定。支付标准申请费，并不会产生取得十年多次往返签证的权利。
IRCC 更新操作指引，强调签证官可以决定签发单次还是多次入境签证，并确定其有效期。评估可能包括旅行目的、资金、医疗因素、申请人个人情况、与原居国的联系，以及未来旅行频率。
即使适合签发多次入境签证，有效期通常也不能超过护照或生物识别信息所允许的期限。事实只支持较短访问安排时，签证官可以签发期限较短的签证。
签证只允许旅行者在加拿大入境口岸申请入境，并不保证一定获准入境。入境后的访客身份期限由边境官员或 Visitor Record 决定。因此，十年有效签证并不允许在加拿大连续居住十年。
申请的正确目标应是真实、证据充分，而不是预先承诺签证期限或入境次数。
